Happy Nurses Day Amma 🤍

Happy Nurses Day Amma! You are a superhero.

It's been almost 25 years since you took up this profession and you were always a mother, a mother filling belief, confidence in every patient struggling their battles, a mother protecting, nursing her patients as her own.

The world was shaken by the pandemic but you came forward and menaced your life doing your duty with utmost attention, care. Your commitment, enthusiasm, concern about your work never fail to inspire me. Though I don't say this often, you inspire me a lot, from being independent to finding passion in a profession you are someone I always look up to.

This rampant rife challenged you, going to work during this COVID-19 pandemic has placed frontline workers under immense and unprecedented pressure, putting their physical, mental, and social well-being at risk and yet you were selfless and asked us to stay at village till the outbreak of the virus settles so that we wouldn't be affected by it in the city.

During the time you needed us in the house to give you moral support after you came back from work, you preferred staying alone because you didn't want us to get affected by the virus you are facing every day in the hospital? That is exactly when I realized how hard it is to be a mother, especially a working mother balancing both her career and family and putting everything else before herself, you are a true warrior and I esteem you more than anything.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest accomplishment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around and your profession is an embodiment of all these qualities. Despite the hardships, health risks millions of health workers continue doing their jobs.

I can't even imagine the suffocation you guys have to go through wearing those PPE Kits working all day.

When people are risking their own lives and saving our lives why are we not able to guard our own life by simply sitting in ensconce at our home? Doesn't that sound ridiculous? With the health workers doing everything possible to save people, instead of being a pillar of support to them us being careless, negligent is sad, unacceptable.

In these tough times, they deserve to be appreciated. As frontline soldiers, they have the opportunity to heal the mind, soul, heart, and body of patients, their families and we should make them feel better too. All it takes are some kind words, a token of appreciation. If there is a health worker in your family tell them you are proud of them, they are the best and bravest and you got their back no matter what. If there is a health worker in your neighborhood appreciate how their selfless service to the greater community is helping us all get through these tough times instead of treating them as untouchable or people who carry the virus on them. If they are your friends call them and cheer them up make them understand their dedication and skills are making a difference and you are so grateful for their support.

Not just during work hours but even when you are off duty you never fail to pick up any call from people who know you ,you clarify all their health concerns, supporting them, telling them it will be okay. I witnessed you talking and motivating many of my friends, our family members and It made me understand you aren't just a good nurse but also a better human. The world deserves, needs people like you

I would like to end this saying with what I started, Maa, you are not just a mother to me but a mother to all your patients, people may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel. Every day you make a commitment to serve, thank you for giving your strength to so many.

- Your daughter who loves you for everything you are!

  9. A nurse means to go above and beyond the call of duty. The first to work and the last to leave. The heart and soul of caring. A unique soul who will pass through our life for a minute and impact it for an eternity. During this pandemic, she has given her best. Big thanks for their sacrifices as frontliners during this challenging pandemic period. Happy international nurse day aunty

Honestly, who are we to fight the Alchemy?

Since my childhood I have always wanted to achieve big things in life but have always messed them up despite giving my 100 percent. My whole life was filled with scenes which screamed “So close, yet so far” .  I tried my hands on multiple things due to various reasons but one thing I knew was -My heart was the happiest while doing one thing - managing and leading people, but I wasn’t brave enough to take that path, nor was I aware of the options and hence explored multiple opportunities.  I have been made fun of and called out as “fickle-minded” a lot of times but only I knew no matter what I did, I gave it my all - let it be preparing for GATE in my pre-final years or for GRE in my final year , but none of them were giving me the peace nor happiness I wanted and when I sat down and asked my heart what I actually wanted, what excited  me, it knew , it always knew ; it has always been this- do something in Management and 2 years back right after my graduation I finally mad...

"What a year can do to you ?"

Growing up I have always wondered, what would just a change in the date at the year end do to anyone's life? Why do people give so much significance to 31st Night, is it just not ordinary like all other days? Reflecting upon these thoughts now, I understand the partition between these two days is not just about the days but about perspectives, experiences and learnings! It's about " How much a year can transform you "  It is special because today you sit back and recall everything the year has done to you and you have done to the year, Good days or bad days at the end are 'days' and 'you' have lived through each and every day, you had the strength to fight your battles and made it through 365 days , all this might feel very simple when you are at it but today when you look at the time frame of the year you celebrate that, you celebrate life, you celebrate those good and bad days and pat yourself for 'Living'.  You now know the mistakes you hav...
